Byron Donalds Downplays Snub Claims

Ever since Donald Trump started rolling out his Cabinet picks and nominations — and that list of Republican MAGA minions has looked more and more like a second-string Fox News lineup (y’all think that’s an exaggeration, but Trump literally nominated a Fox News host with zero experience in national defense to serve as Secretary of Defense) — people have noticed that, along with how underqualified most of his picks have been, they have also been, well, very Caucasian. Critics have been wondering why his upcoming administration, so far, excludes his loyal “Black friends,” especially since a major part of his campaign was built around shameless pandering toward Black men.

Hell, there’s even a viral list of Black lackeys that Trump has seemingly spurned. That list includes Ben Carson, who previously served as Trump’s Secretary of the U.S. Housing and Urban Development despite having no experience in housing or urban development; N.C. Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson, who lost his bid to become governor of the state after his alleged online activity painted himself as a “Black Nazi” with an affinity for slavery and transgender porn; former Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron, who most of us only know due to his consistent failures to bring justice for the killing of Breonna Taylor; Herschel Walker, who was probably too busy writing grammatically-incorrect vampire hunter FBI cop fan-fic anyway; and Candace Owens, who, well — honestly, I’m still not quite sure what she even does.

The list also included Trump’s most passionate shuckers and jivers, Sen. Tim Scott and Rep. Byron Donalds, who I’ve also noted are seemingly being ignored as Trump assembles his MAGA Avengers squad of reverse-DEI hires who are low on merit but high on Trump butt-kissing, which is, apparently, all that matters.

Anyway, Donalds was asked if he felt some kind of way about not being included in Trump’s administration — but he says he’s cool with it.

During an episode of CNN’s Laura Coates Live, Donalds dismissed criticism by MSNBC panelist Al Sharpton, who recently criticized Trump for not selecting any Black people for Cabinet positions. Donalds suggested Sharpton was just salty because the election did not go “the way that they thought.”

“That being said, Donald Trump’s Cabinet is about people who are going to implement his agenda, and he’s not done, by the way,” Donalds continued. “You have Susie Wiles, the first woman ever to serve as chief of staff. You have Marco Rubio, a Cuban-American who’s going to serve as secretary of state, representing America across the globe when it comes to foreign policy. You have Tulsi Gabbard going to be at DNI. So many others that are coming, and there are still slots to be filled, so I think everybody needs to pump the brakes and just wait and see what happens.”

Look at Donalds trying to pretend Trump’s hive mind of almost exclusively white and male MAGA Klan is still diverse because a few women and a single person of color are sprinkled in there somewhere.

Anyway, Donalds is right about it still being far too early to determine what the entire makeup of Trump’s Cabinet will look like. Still, Trump has tapped WWE executive Linda McMahon to lead the U.S. Department of Education and TV personality Mehmet Oz, aka “Dr. Oz,” for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, which means he’s checking for fellow TV stars to serve in his meritless MAGA manosphere, but he hasn’t given the nod to any of his Sunken Place homies yet?

Come on, man, that has to sting a little.
